Geophysics is the branch of Earth Sciences that studies the physical processes and properties of the Earth. Using direct and indirect observations, experiments and mathematical models, Geophysics allows us to develop an understanding of the composition of the Earth’s interior and its structure, its gravitational and magnetic fields, plate tectonics, tides, the shape and mass of the Earth, its orbit, etc.
